What
is Coral Calcium?
Coral Calcium is a dietary supplement that comes from sea coral.
Coral is a living organism that contains high concentrations of
calcium, magnesium and numerous other minerals. Supplements are
actually made from dead coral that has washed up on shore. All coral
calcium is fully processed and treated and is safe to consume.
What is a mineral?
Webster defines minerals as solid, crystalline substances (diamond,
copper, quartz, etc.) not of animal or vegetable origin. Minerals
for nutritional purposes cannot be synthesized by the body and as
the definition states - they are not of animal or vegetable origin.
We don't get minerals from our diet and must therefore rely on supplements
or foods fortified with minerals. The fact that coral calcium has
74 minerals may be a primary reason for some health benefits noticed
while taking the supplement.
What are Fossilized Stony Coral Minerals?
Fossilized Stony Coral Minerals is a very accurate name. The coral
is fossilized, stony in nature and has 74 different minerals in
it. For some scientists there is debate over when something is in
fossilized form, so they prefer the term "Stony Coral Minerals."
Then scientists starting taking issue with the word "stony".
Stony Coral Minerals does not explain that the coral comes from
the sea - so some like to call it "Marine Coral Minerals."
The important thing to remember is that each of these terms are
just another way to say coral calcium.
What
does Okinawa, Japan have to do with Coral Calcium?
Okinawa is a chain of islands in Japan. The Okinawa islands and
the sea that surrounds them are rich in coral deposits. Almost all
coral calcium sold on the market comes from Okinawa.
What
is Sango Coral?
Sango Coral is just another name for coral that comes from Okinawa,
Japan.
What is Ionized Coral?
Minerals that are ionized (have a positive charge) tend to be easier
for us humans to absorb into our bloodstream. So, with ionized coral
calcium it is easier for the body to absorb the calcium than let's
say the calcium in milk.
What
is a mineral wheel?
Here is a picture of a simplified mineral wheel. What a mineral
wheel shows is that balance between minerals is of critical importance.
A line between two minerals with arrow on it shows a direct relationship
between the minerals. For example, you see that Phosphorus (P) and
Calcium (Ca) have a line with arrows going in both directions. This
indicates that the ratio of P to Ca is important for the body to
be able to utilize each mineral. The two minerals must be correctly
balanced to achieve the maximum effect on the body.
What
are pH levels and Alkaline Balance?
Acidity and alkalinity are measured by a logarithm scale scale known
as pH (potential hydrogen) which ranges from 0 - 14. The pH of any
solution is the measure of its hydrogen-ion concentration. The higher
the pH reading, the more alkaline and oxygen rich the fluid is.
The lower the pH reading, the more acidic and oxygen deprived the
fluid is. Our body, mostly made up of water, can have either acid
or alkaline properties which are measured by this graduated scale
called pH. A pH value of 1.0 to 6.9 is considered acidic. A pH of
7.0 is considered neutral. Finally, a pH of 7.1 to 14.0 is alkaline.
The lower the pH number, the greater the acidity. The higher the
pH number, the greater the alkalinity.
A
lemon has a pH value of 2.1 - very acidic. On the other hand, butter
has a 6.3 pH level - still acidic, but much less so than a lemon.
Remember, the pH scale is exponential so a change in pH from say
7 to 6 represents a 10 fold increase in hydrogen ions. It's important
to understand that even a small change in pH level represents a
large shift in the alkaline balance. When the body is right around
a 7.4 pH it is said to be in Alkaline balance where it operates
most efficiently.
Who
is Robert Barefoot?
Bob Barefoot is not a Medical Doctor, he is a chemist. He has spent
30 years researching minerals and coral deposits.
Why
are the vitamins in Corazyme™ so important?
Vitamin D, vitamin K, and Ester C brand vitamin C, are all necessary
components for the proper absorption, and your body's retention
of the nutrients found in marine coral.
What
is ZYMITOL and what role does it play in the Corazyme Formula?
Zymitol was designed to ease the symptoms of aging while balancing
your body’s normal processes. Uniquely it helps to promote better
absorption of coral. Zymitol™ is a broad spectrum enzyme formulation
with important additions like, MSM, alpha lipoic acid, magnesium,
and rutin, and is available as an ingredient in Corazyme or as a standalone
